ABOUT US
Why I started DRC Merchant Consulting
For 22 years, I worked inside the global institutional banking industry. I've seen how money actually moves — who profits from a transaction, and how much of that process most business owners never see.
Then I became one of those business owners myself. As a franchise owner, I paid the card industry roughly 4% of my revenue, transaction after transaction. I knew the fee was there — I just wasn't focused on it. My job was running the business, not auditing the processor. It wasn't until I sold that business and actually sat down with the numbers that it hit me: how much of my own revenue had quietly gone to a fee I'd never seriously looked into.
So I started researching. What I found was that I'd never needed to pay that much — there were legal, legitimate ways to reduce or eliminate those fees entirely, and I simply hadn't known they existed. Most merchants still don't.
That's the gap DRC Merchant Consulting was created to close. As a broker to the industry, I know which deals are actually good for a merchant and which ones just sound good. As a consultant to your business, I can show you exactly how a transaction fee that looks like 2.5% can actually cost you more than 4% — then help you figure out what's genuinely right for you, customize a plan that fits your business, and make sure you walk away knowing you made the right call, not just hoping you did. There's no need to consider high transaction fees as a cost of doing business anymore.
The flag behind me flew during WWII aboard the USS LST-698 during the Battle of Okinawa, the battle that ended the war in the Pacific Theatre. On the morning of April 4th 1945 she stormed Green beach on the West side of the island, the ship struck a coral reef and became disabled. Under kamikaze attack, my grandfather, Motor Machinist 1st Class Henry J. Cormier (HJC), kept her generators running by salvaging parts from the two damaged diesel engines, powering the crew through the battle until rescue came 3 days later. For his actions, he was awarded the ships flag, the same flag that flew that day. It's hung in my family ever since — and now it hangs behind me while I work.
What we value
Independence first
We're not captive to a single processor or ISO. That means the recommendation we give is based on your business need, not ours.
Plain-language advice
Processing statements are built to be confusing. Our job is to translate them, not add to the noise.
Long-Term Partnerships
The relationship doesn't end when we install your equipment. We pride ourselves on providing top ongoing support to you and our community.
